13 friends down to three, four countries, 19 hostels and places, 12 hikes, over 70 ice creams and endless amounts of laughter later and it’s time for me to fly back home.
Month: July 2018
3 Days in Kuala Lumpur
When we got out of the airport and into our grab cab (if you’re travelling Asia the grab app will be your saviour – it’s like Uber but better) I genuinely thought that I had gone deaf. That’s because it’s incredibly quiet, there’s no beeping of horns every second compared to the crazy streets of Vietnam.
Last Stop In Vietnam
We arrived really late to our hostel in Ho Chi Minh, because our flight was delayed 3 hours. Although we were really happy about the beds here because we have two pillows, a curtain, under bed storage and a shelf (it really is the small things in life that make you happy).
36 Hours in Da Nang
We decided to book a night in Da Nang, before we flew to Ho Chi Mihn City, just to see what the area had to offer – only to find that although it’s great, there’s not that much to do.
Happy in Hoi An
After an overly long bus journey, did I mention it took 13 instead of 6 hours? We finally got to Hoi An, which is a beautiful little place with such an ancient feel.
Fun in Phong Nha
Day one
We caught another horrible night bus – I swear these keep getting worse, I’m not even being dramatic. The bus was full and in the tiny isle next to me two people slept on the floor, right next to me. The woman kept snoring and touching me. It was not a pleasant journey, however, once again the destination made it well worth it.
Jurassic Park aka Nihn Bihn
To say I was tired is an understatement, the journey to Nihn Bihn was tiring, but the scenery was well worth the exhaustion.
Our hostel was a little far out out of Nihn Bihn as we were staying in Trang An, but it was set amongst the mountains and looked like something out of a film (Jurassic Park to be specific).
